Nobody Sweats Alone

Life becomes challenging after receiving a Breast Cancer diagnosis, often leaving you feeling isolated and overwhelmed as you try to adjust to your new normal whilst also mourning your previous self. Having your oestrogen levels reduced drastically slams you into a medically induced menopause and overnight you can go from feeling (relatively) young and carefree to feeling like you have aged 20 years!

Menopause, in itself, presents its own difficulties, but undergoing medically induced menopause is particularly extreme and can result in debilitating side effects such as aching joints, brain fog, hot flushes, night sweats, trouble sleeping and low moods.

Having found myself navigating my own Breast Cancer journey in 2020 (and subsequent menopause) I found myself feeling alone and struggling with my new identity. I no longer recognised myself in the mirror, my self esteem was at an all time low and not wanting to burden my family I felt like I had nowhere to turn and this has led me to starting Flushed!

I want to create a support network for those going through the same, my intention is to grow and create events up and down the company, make sure every GP is armed with support material and to be able to fund holistic treatment such as reflexology, reiki, massage and lots more.
